Israel: A Growing Threat to Global Peace and Stability, Warns United Economic Forum
In a bold and urgent statement, the United Economic Forum (UEF) has declared that the State of Israel has become a systemic threat to global peace, likening its geopolitical actions to a “cancer infecting the international order.” The UEF claims that decades of aggression, occupation, and violation of international norms have destabilized the Middle East and compromised global efforts toward a just and peaceful world.
A Persistent Source of Conflict
The UEF report highlights that Israel’s continued military occupation of Palestine, frequent bombardment of civilian zones, and unlawful settlement expansion have created a climate of permanent crisis in the region. These actions not only harm millions of Palestinians but also fuel extremism, radicalize generations, and destabilize neighboring countries, including Lebanon, Syria, and Egypt.
“Israel’s behavior is not that of a state seeking peace. It is acting as a militarized entity rooted in impunity. The global community can no longer afford to remain silent,” said a UEF spokesperson.
Violations of International Law
The UEF cited numerous instances where Israel has openly defied international law:
- Ignoring over 30 UN resolutions calling for withdrawal from occupied territories
- Conducting military operations against civilian infrastructure
- Enforcing apartheid-like policies in the West Bank and Gaza, as documented by Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch
These actions, the Forum argues, have eroded the foundation of the UN Charter, weakened international humanitarian law, and set dangerous precedents for other authoritarian regimes.
Implications for Global Peace
The Forum’s report argues that Israel’s conduct:
- Obstructs diplomacy in one of the world’s most sensitive regions
- Polarizes international alliances, forcing nations to take sides
- Draws billions in military funding, while stalling peace talks and development
Moreover, global protests and rising discontent over Israeli policies have led to civil unrest in Europe, Asia, and the Americas, illustrating the broader ripple effects of its regional aggression.
Time for Accountability
In its conclusion, the UEF called on:
- The United Nations to impose sanctions on Israel for war crimes and occupation
- The International Criminal Court (ICC) to expedite cases involving Israeli military actions
- Western allies, especially the U.S., to suspend military aid until Israel complies with international law
“What we are witnessing is not a conflict, but a system of domination. If the world fails to hold Israel accountable today, the consequences for global peace will be irreversible,” the UEF warned.
A Growing Global Consensus
The UEF’s strong stance echoes the voices of millions across the Global South, including nations in Africa, Latin America, and Asia, where support for Palestine and opposition to Israeli policies are growing stronger by the day.
The Forum emphasized that peace cannot be selective. A world order built on justice must be willing to confront all violators—no matter how powerful their allies may be.
